Emptying Water Tanks
I'm open to suggestions as to removing all the water from my water tanks. They haven't been used in so long, the water is not fit for washing your hands!

Using an old length of water hose for a siphon is cheap and easy. A newfangled "shaker siphon" is another cheap way to go and you don't have to worry about swallowing swamp water. There are lots of other means such as a portable bilge pump or the small capacity pumps which require the use of a drill motor. A wet/dry vac is also handy if the tanks aren't topped up.

Re: Emptying Water Tanks
I decided to get my calf workout in this weekend, I so stood at the sink and pumped(and pumped, and pumped) until the most ungodly black stuff burped out. Tank empty(and going to be replaced in the offseason along w/ all of the hose). Took about 15 minutes. I recommend some upbeats tunes to help set the pace.

Re: Emptying Water Tanks
Disconnect any hose below the level of the tank and drain the water into the bilge.

I pump the water into the sink with a portable hand bilge pump.

Re: Emptying Water Tanks
Thanks to all. I had considered all of them, except the music accompaniment.
