Tim:

Both Monty's and Dinner Key Marinas were badly damaged by Hurricane Irma. I have not personally been to either since the damage but have spoken with others who have been there. One of the newspaper articles described the damage as a bowling ball knocking over pins. Apparently, a few larger sailboats broke loose from moorings or their own anchors and were blown down onto boats at the marina docks. Bad scene.

Mike has a good memory. S/V Bali Ha'i is on a Triad Trailer in my driveway. She survived Hurricane Irma without a single scratch. All things considered, pretty amazing.

S/V Bali Ha'i is usually on her mooring at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club which is just south of Dinner Key Marina. When a hurricane watch is announced for Biscayne Bay ALL sailboats must evacuate the mooring field. Failure to do so results in loss of mooring privileges for a minimum of 1 year. I moved S/V Bali Ha'i some time ago in anticipation of doing work on her. Medical and personal issues have delayed progress.

I will shortly post on a thread labeled "Hurricane Maria". I would respectfully urge all readers to do what you can to help the American citizen children and adults who are helpless in the face of Hurricane Maria. Thank you.
Fair winds,

Roberto
