I'm attaching a link to show the propane locker that cam with my boat. After all these years l decided to get the stove working. Hope this link works

Anyway I'm hoping someone might have some experience with this product.
My boat has the locker, hoses, solenoid, etc. but no propane tank. I was able to find the tank and tried to put it in the locker. For some reason I cant get the locker lid tight, as if the tank is about 1/2" too high. I was dry fitting it today and the thought occurred to me that maybe if it was full it might conform. But it's a steel tank so doubt the shape would change.
I say this to show how wacked out I became.
Sooooo, what with the vast knowledge and experience on this board, I humbly ask for any help you might have.

Re: Sure Marine 1Gal Propane Locker
Please clarify. First you stated you hand everything but the tank....then you said you were able to find "the tank". Is that the tank that was included with the kit originally or did you "find" a one gallon tank from another source? It may be that the tank included with the kit is the only make or model which will fit their box.
I had a similar Sure Marine propane locker mounted in my lazerette when I purchased Orion. I removed it and I now have an aft rail mounted propane bracket. No fumes below deck and I have full use of my lazerette for storage.

Re: Sure Marine 1Gal Propane Locker
Jim, thanks for asking.
I did not have the tank, I purchased one that is supposed to be the same as what would have been the original. Have gone back to the website I linked and sent the manufacturer an email asking if there was some specific model. Just did that tonight so can't expect a response until Monday at earliest.
I had noticed from some of your photos that you had a tank mounted on your railing. I figured that since I had everything (except the tank) that it would be simple. Of course nothing on an old boat is ever simple.
I may try your solution as I like the safety of it and in the long run might be the simplest.

Re: Sure Marine 1Gal Propane Locker
Finally resolved conundrum....
Talked to supplier and found out that in fact the original manufacturer did supply a different sized tank that was specific to that locker, which was a little bit shorter. Easy fix, current supplier has a new locker lid that accommodates newer size tank and I was able to order one.
