Typhoon WE running lights

Post by Rick Gedney »

I am re-wiring my 76 Ty - the forward port starboard lights are good. It looks like I have had a few iterations of the white running light including one on the rear deck that leaked into the core. I see holes and some old wiring for a mast head light, etc.
Two questions:
Where is the original location of this light?
Where do most Ty owners prefer this light now?

I have two different answers from two yards. One wants to put it back on the stern - the other masthead.

Thanks much,

Just curious, do you plan on using the Typhoon at night / in fog? Most Typhoons do not have fixed running lights or an electrical system. Mine does not and I can't really see the need for it. Maybe some overnights? I do have a clamp on battery operated light but have yet to use it. Maybe use the Ty for a while to see if you really need it?

Does it have roller furling, need any new sails? I'd start with sailing performance first
