Does anyone know approximately how much extra line would be needed for a 3:1/6:1 2speed tackle?
I havn't been at the boat to measure with the boom all the way out. Thanks

Re: 2 speed mainsheet tackle
I wanted to add to my previous post that I am talking about a CD 27 with aft traveller. Thanks.

Re: 2 speed mainsheet tackle
Slainte, our CD27 with aft traveler uses a 4:1 system, which I believe is original. We have the 75' mainsheet called for in the specs. I can not imagine upping to a 6:1, that is going to put an additional 30 feet, or so, of mainsheet in the cockpit. I have never had to strain with the 4:1 system and I would not doubt that I could do with just a 3:1 and cut down on the cockpit clutter. It is only a 167 square foot sail.

The 6-to-1 tackle would be nice, but only if you convert to mid-boom sheeting.
Otherwise it's not worth the extra line in the cockpit.
