Are CD companionway hatches all from the same mold?

Are CD companionway hatches all from the same mold?
Odd question I know but it's not just for trivia purposes! I own a CD 28 and have access to a 27 and they appear to have the same sliding hatch on the companionway. I just bought a Typhoon but it is missing the companionway hatch for some odd reason. It's quite a simple part so I'm wondering if I could pull a mold off the hatch from my 28 and lay up a new hatch for the Typhoon. Unfortunately I'm in New Orleans and the Typhoon is in Maine (a friend helped with the purchase) so I can't measure it directly but looking at photos it does seem quite familiar... Could be an easy solution to an otherwise tricky bit of work.

My guess is no. There may be some models that used the same companionway slider, and it's possible the 27 and 28 are the same, but the Ty is probably very different. For example, the 27 and 28 sliders slide into a seahood that provides extra protection and strength to that area. On the Typhoon (at least one 1975 Weekender that I know) the slider does not slide into and under a seahood. Second, the companionway slider for the larger CDs are cored (and therefore not a really simple fabrication) so they can take the weight of a crewperson flaking a sail. On the Ty I am familiar with (but no longer have access to), the slider is not cored, and not designed to take the same kind of crew weight as the larger boats in the lineup.
I think the best approach would be to find someone with an identical model and similar vintage Ty who would be willing to lend you their slider to make a mold.

Thanks for the detailed reply. That makes a lot of sense, I'm sure you're right. Might be a long shot to find one I can borrow but I'm sure I'll be able to figure out something.
