Sizes CD25

Post by hinmo »

Need to replace forestay and furler.

My measurements on the forestay, top of eye to bottom of stay are ~29ft. Sailboat data has it at 29.01. CD25 owners manual has it at 27'6"....but I am probably reading the diagram wrong. Can someone confirm or correct?

Mast measured approx 26.5 ft.

Can someone confirm mast and forestay sizes?

(note - bought boat mast down and I am not sure it is original... and PO not willing to communicate)

Thanks

I would very strongly advise that you put your mast up with the rigging you have and verify everything looks ok. If you don't see any problems use your current rigging for measuring replacements. Remember these boats have probably had a few owners and some have had modifications. You really shouldn't trust that any published specs or others measurements will be correct for your boat.

I can't help with the measurements issue. However, I am disappointed that the prior owner is unwilling to communicate with you. That is very atypical of Cape Dory owners. Hopefully, from this point forward you will find all the answers and information you need from those who post on this board. They have always come through for me and been an excellent source of advise.

Thats the way it goes sometimes, lets hope the boat turns out alright, it still seems like it was a good deal, but we will see as time progresses. Appreciate the help and dont want to be a pest. "the devils in the details"
