New CD26 Owner Checking in! :)

Post by Dorothea »

Hello, this seemed as good a place as any to annoucement our joining the Cape Dory family.
My wife insisted on having standing headroom and in that search for the next boat lead us to the CD26.
So we bit farewell to our little Com-Pac 23 and look forward to what next sailing season has to bring.
In the mean time I have a lot of reading to do. :)

From what I can gather this seems to be swhfire21's old boat! :)

A lovely little yacht. Congrats. I've sailed and taught on a fair few Com-Pac's and while they are nice boats, I think you'll find the CD26 sails quite a bit better.

Welcome to the CD community.

Congratulations. CD 26 hull 30 was indeed mine.

Assuming the guy in the middle did not harm her (she was supposedly going to NC) you should find her well suited for the shallow waters and moderate-strong winds of southern NJ. If you have any questions you'll find multiple post on projects and upgrades on the board.

The boat that replaced her came from Forked River and should splash this coming spring in Little Egg Harbor/Great Bay.

Best of luck, the 26 is a great boat.

Thanks Steve, yes the boat was supposed to go down to Charleston SC but never made it, no one would ship it in the middle of the winter he told me. Then over the winter he found another CD26 for sale in SC and bought that one and put this one up for sale.

Welcome to the Cape Dory family! Check out this bulletin board whenever you have questions about your great little yacht, tips of keeping her fit and making repairs and upgrades. If you're interested in cruising or just in meeting a great group of enthusiastic sailors, please consider joining the CDSOA. For a mere $40, you'll find yourselves in a real sailing family.

Enjoy your new Cape Dory.
