Teak Cockpit Table
I was thinking about making a small cockpit table for my MS 300. The boat came with a pedestal and an attachment plate in the middle of the cockpit. We occasionally used the cabin table in the cockpit as it has the same standard mount but it was a little large for the cockpit. Wanted to make a smaller table with side leafs that would fold up on the center section.
Was kind is shocked how expensive teak had become so I decided to look for a cheaper pre-made table. Found one online from Hamilton Marine designed to hang down from the wheel pedestal when not being used and supported with a post in front when it was. It had the extra benefit of coming with a bottle / drink / binocular holder that was attached with a hinge so that it was upright whether the table was being used or not. I was surprised by the quality of both the hardware (stainless or solid brass) and the wood.
I took off the support hardware and the hinge connecting the table connecting the drink holder to the table. Oak supports were glued and screwed to the bottom on each side of the leaf support slides in order to attach a pedestal mount to the bottom of the table. No sanding was needed before finishing with 3 coats of Cetol Natural teak and two of Cetol clear. Painting and varnishing is not one if my stronger skill but the Cetol is pretty forgiving. Have drips that still need to be sanded down.
The drink holder component isn't hard mounted to the table. Was going to try and find a spot for it in the cockpit or pilot house when the table is not being used so that it could be used in either spot. Table can be rotated so that holder is either fore or aft.

Joe:
Beautiful
Two questions:
1. Do you have any additional photos that show the base, etc.
2. Can you post the part number and/or page number on Hamilton Marine website for this table I went on their website but got nothing close to your table.
Thanks in advance.

This is the link/ part number for the table:

Don't have any pictures of the base but the tube is a standard size used for seats and tables.

Thank you very much. Unfortunately, it looks like that table is designed to work with a wheel/pedestal. I have a tiller. It is a beautiful cockpit table well suited for a nice linen service mahi mahi dinner with a properly chilled bottle of Pinot Grigio.

Re: Teak Cockpit Table
Roberto,
Yes you could not use it when under sail or motoring. But the pedestals can be removed as I do on my MS. The pedestal is only up at anchor.. It takes me about 60 seconds to bolt it to the attachment plate.
