When well trimmed and wind isn't jumping around too much, this works great on KAYLA.

Yep but must be in perfect balance, I use my tiller extension sometimes

We used a similar system on our 27, but now we have a real ST2000 tiller pilot. The line on the tiller is definitely faster to set up. but you do have to balance the wind and the sails.

I do not want to be tripping over loose lines in the cockpit. That day I had the advantage of being on one tack for a long time, that is unusual in river sailing. You can't see it in the photo, but the bulk of mainsheet is always put unto a stuff bag.
