I've had my CD 27 Jerezana temporarily in Marion harbor for three weeks after a woefully late start to the season ... had lots of work done at Burr Brothers Boats. Now I’m on a Burr Bros ball for a few weeks until I can get around to a new home port at Rhode Island Y.C. up Narragansett Bay.
I emailed Joe Myerson the other day asking if he and Creme Brulee (CD 25D) would entertain Jerezana and me - if we came across Buzzards Bay for a visit.
I got across early, so threw the hook over in Megansett Harbor. Soon enough Joe came poking out of Squeteague Harbor (a real hurricane hole if ever there was one - a harbor within a harbor). We both got out just about every fender we had, and had a fine if somewhat lumpy raft up (lots of water skiing nearby). We compared our little ships, enjoyed a coke, and gabbed for an hour or so.
Thanks Joe ... I got a few nice snaps of Creme Brulee in her element as you bore off into the unusual light north wind.
Later, coming back into Marion, two osprey circled my mast for a few minutes. I've never had that happen before. They have a loud, high pitched call, and are magnificent creatures.

Hey Fred,
It was great to see you the other day. I got a few hours of great sailing yesterday. Might try my luck this afternoon, though it looks like reefing weather.

Nice photographs, Fred. Looks like you guys enjoyed yourselves. Lots of good sailing weather left for the remainder of the season.....as long as those tropical depressions follow the Gulf Stream away from the New England coast.

Hi Fred, Joe,
Nice pictures. Nice boats. I was out yesterday too, Sconticut Neck to Weepecket and back. A blustery NW wind near West Island, but steady 12-knot WSW out near the islands.
Has the "Rust Tide" made its way to Cataumet yet? It's been very obvious in the Dartmouth to Mattapoisett area for the past several weeks, and there was an article about it in today's New Bedford Standard-Times.

Re: Buzzards Bay Raft Up
Hi Steve,
Was out yesterday afternoon on a flawless day with strange winds from many directions and ranging from light to blustery. Yes that obnoxious rusty tide was in some patches off Nye and Scraggy Neck, near the shipping channel. I sort of circled Cleveland Ledge LH, and the rust was deffinitely starting to build.
Thanks for the link.
Joe
BTW, are you going to Annspolis for the big shindig?
