2016 Maine Cruise?
Though my schedule was a little off this summer and I couldn't participate, I was hoping to hear how the Cruise went this year from those that did. Any reports or pictures appreciated! I happen to be heading back from Penobscot Bay about the time the Cruise was scheduled to start and passed a few Cape Dorys on the way. Ahoy, to Loda May, who passed me going north as I was headed south just north of Rockland Harbor!

David, I do have some pictures but I am just getting home from a summer of cruising. I will try to post some as soon as I can.

Hi David,
It's great that two CD31s happened to pass by coincidence. Loda May is owned and well cared for by Dean Abramson and Marvo Gilkey. Dean used to be a regular contributor to this Board. I had the good fortune to crew for Dean to Nova Scotia a few years ago. Dean may or may not respond to this post because he and Marvo are probably still sailing.

Actually, another 31 happened to pass. It was us, heading down to NYC. It was a treat to see all those fine CDs heading east pass us in line. Wonderful!
Sadly, we had to abort the trip due to some health issues, a death of a dear friend and, finally, a failed transmission. We're presently in snug Northeast Harbor waiting for the ZF company to figure out how they want to do the warranty work on our 11-month old transmission. Not a bad place to dwell for a while and the weather has been nice.
We can still use the transmission, but it looks like a goner, according to the ZF folks.
All else well, and if any of your are in NE harbor or nearby, email or sail on over to mooring ball 330.

My brother Marcel and I had the good fortune to join the cruise this year and we had a wonderful time. Though he's
a Maine resident, he had never been to the outer islands. It was a treat for both of us. We especially enjoyed hiking
the trails on Marshall Island and the camaraderie of the evening get-togethers.

(Is my memory what it used to be?)
We had a great five-week cruise! We were not on the CDSOA cruise; we meant to rendezvous with them for one day, but weather influenced our deciding against it.

Jean, Glad to see you made it back OK. We have finished our cruise and are back in VT. Let me see if I can post some pictures.
