Manual windless installation on CD 33
Has anyone installed a Lofrans windless on a Cape Dory 33?

Re: Manual windless installation on CD 33
We just installed one on our 31 in June. It does not drop the chain directly into the chain locker, as there was not enough room to install it like that.
It works ok. It works best with two people, one tailing the chain for raising/lowering. Most of the chain we haul by hand and use the Lofrans in deep water where the chain/anchor weight really adds up.
The design of the Lofrans is such that the chain has to be tailed at a slight angle or it will jam on a bolt just under the gypsy, annoying, but we work around it. Again, with a drop directly into your larger locker, this would not be a problem.
Good luck. 33 Huh? Real nice boat.
