Deck Cabin Top Repair/Repaint
Attached is a photo of the repaired and repainted deck, cabin top. I had the yard where I keep my boat do the work. It looks good and hopefully it will last. I got a few estimates and contacted Tim Lackey and asked for his opinion re/ the price etc. He was kind enough to give me some feedback. The work seems fine but it took substantially longer to get finished than anticipated or promised. Please forgive the disarray of lines, etc. I took this photo right after the new roller furler was installed and the crew that did the work had just left.

Beautiful work. It makes a stunning boat look even better.

Looks brand new.
We did our deck ourselves this spring. Took a month, but that was as much due to the lousy spring Nova Scotia had this year as to the actual work. It probably took 10 full work days with two people, as much for the prep and masking as the actual painting. 2 coats of Perfection and a coat of Kiwi-grip. Passes the 3-foot test and is really holding up to the abuse of sailing, anchor chain on deck, etc. Tough products once they cure.

Jen and Terry,
I'm envious that you were able to do the work yourselves. I would have liked to do have done it myself and have done similar work on previous boats I've had. When I contracted with the yard I was still working in Georgia and only got home here in VA once or twice a month for a long weekend.
With that said, I doubt I could have got all the work done in a timely manner even if I had been home. However, the yard didn't get it done in a timely manner either! But, at least the boat was in a shed all winter.

Cliff, Jen & Terry:
Would you mind sharing the paint color that you used? The boat looks terrific and I hope to attain the same next spring. I'm thinking of using Kiwi Grip and wonder about their color beige.
