Outboards for Typhoon Sr.

I'm new to the forum and new to owning a Cape Dory. I'm looking to get a little help with my question in updating the kicker on the my Typhoon Sr. #51
Currently I have a 1989 Evinrude 9.9 mounted in the lazerett . I was looking to replace it with a 9.9 4 stroke to reduce the noise level. I have narrowed it down to the Yamaha T9.9 ELHB (electric, long shaft, no p-tilt) that looks like it would be tight.
If anyone out there using a newer 4 stroke, I would love to hear what worked for you and what modification if any had to be done. Thank you,
