Tim:

I was involved with activities all day yesterday.

Your post is very thoughtful and thought provoking.

Kate Smith first sang "God Bless America" in the late 1930s or early 1940s I believe. To this day still the best rendition.

Thanks Tim.

Roberto

Hi Roberto,

Kate Smith first introduced "God Bless America" to the public on Armistice Day, Nov. 11, 1938.

One of Kate's homes, her summer home, was not too far north of where I live. She had a beautiful place on an island on Lake Placid in the Adirondacks of NYS.

To digress a bit, I'm wondering if any of the readers of this post can offer any information on whether Kate ever got her moon over the mountain or not? lol :D
