Vetus gooseneck in CD28?

Post by riveredge »

Has anyone ever installed a Vetus gooseneck like the LT50 in the transom of a CD28? Looks like it would be a tight fit but I'm still curious. :?

When I re-powered, I ran the exhaust up the starboard side of the space under the cockpit sole, straight up as close as possible to the deck, into an upside down fiberglass "U", then straight down to a bronze 90 and out the transom.
Cheaper than Vetus and not plastic.

Thanks for your reply! The Vetus gooseneck I'm looking at costs about $100. Where did you get your fiberglass elbow and how much did it cost?Do you have a supplier, an illustration or a plan for your solution. Parenthetically all of our boats are made of plastic, albeit fiberglass reinforced plastic.

Centek makes it. Bought it at Fisheries Supply in Seattle five (?) years ago, but I'm sure other companies sell Centek also.
