I am interested in your boat.
Please advise if a motor is included, and provide details. Also, can you furnish current photographs.

Re: Cape Dory 25 For Sale
Hello,
The boat has a Mercury 4-stroke engine. It is in a well, so it doesn't hang off the back of the boat.
I will post photos here if I can figure out how to do it. I have to read instructions on this. I'll get back to you. I'm not much good on these chatroom forum sites. I see the img thingy, but not sure how to get the photos there. I have lots of photos and a long list of equipment. Maybe I'll just copy and paste the equipment here first.
BRIEF HISTORY: About 6 years ago I got to yearning for another sailboat. My husband and I have owned sailboats since married (40 years). Anyway, at that time we'd just sold our 42’ gaff-rigged schooner two years before, and I thought I was missing a sailboat. So we drove to Wisconsin to buy this boat.
Since buying it, we have used it perhaps a dozen times. The first summer we had it up at the lake and used it some, although most of the time we went up and went swimming etc. due to a lack of wind. Then, the next summer my husband was gone for five months. (He is a shipwright and although retired still works for one customer and the job that summer was very big.) So the boat sat in the barn for the entire year. The third year we put the boat in the water in late, late summer because we had our other boat (power boat) up there as Tom had to do some electronic work and other things on it. We had the sailboat in the water maybe a month or two then put it in dry storage at the lake. I didn’t like it sitting outside in a lot, so we brought it home and stored it in our barn. It's been there ever since.
Our issue is that we are just not using the boat. We have a Nordic Tug 26, kayaks, a skiff, and a rowing wherry. We spent six years living aboard a Cal 2-34 and traveling 25,000 miles. (In fact I wrote a book about it: Life Was A Cabaret - A Tale of Two Fools, A Boat, and a Big-Ass Ocean.) I thought I'd really enjoy this boat, but we found lake sailing a bit anti-climactic after our other adventures and also after boating in the San Juans and coastal cruising for many years. So, that's why I've considered selling this boat. If I lived in the San Juans or along the coast, I would NEVER consider selling the boat.
We updated many things on this boat - some things we've never even used.
GROUND TACKLE: We added:
20 LB. Danforth anchor
20' 5/16 galvanized chain
250' Samsonite anchor line, marked at 50' intervals. BRAND NEW
Deck plate for access in dealing with chain/line along with hawshole. (we added these)
SAILS:
Main sail in very very good condition. The previous owner said it was only a year or so old. 3 reef points.
155 genoa - previous owner said it was new or maybe a year old at most
Jib - very good condition.
Multi-purpose sail - never had it out of the bag
Unknown sail - never had it out of the bag
Spinnaker or blooper - not sure. Never had it out of the bag
Storm jib - never had it out of the bag. Looks new.
Wisker pole (looks small to me)
winch handle
bronze winches and cleats in cockpit area
extra halyard for double headsails or for those occasions when you pull the halyard through by accident
ELECTRONICS etc.
Hand-held VHF. This is mine but I'll leave it on the boat although I'd rather not.
Hummingbird fishfinder/depth sounder. Mine but I'll leave it. Maybe a year or two old. Used like twice
Solar panel (portable). Works great
Tiller master autopilot. Never been used
Cabin lights
VERY nice Ritchie compass in cockpit
Spot light (portable = I have no idea if it works)
ENGINE:
4-stroke Mercury 10 hp. Older engine but runs great
2 new 5-gallon gas containers
All manuals, etc. are there
OTHER:
Great icebox on this boat. It's under top companionway step.
Sink with NEW waterlines running from tank.
30 gallon water tank (I think - can't remember. But no less than 20, but pretty sure it's 30)
Deck fill for water. (I hate dragging the hose through the hatch. Looks tacky. We added this.)
Brand new whale gusher pump for the sink
Marine head that has holding tank as well as can be pumped directly overboard. The head is BRAND NEW. It has never been used. (We added the direct overboard pump ability).
Stove is a nice Coleman type camp cookstove.
Magnum barbecuer. We've never used it, but it has been used a bit. Very new looking.
Complete cockpit cushions
(Also boards cut to fit cockpit so if you want to sleep outside you have a bigger bed)
Great ladder for getting out of the water. Best one I've ever had, actually.
Also, screened hatch boards if you want to have the boat open and want to keep the mosquitoes out.
Boom tent
Tool box with some helpful stuff. We added a few things like sail lugs, also.
A bag with spare line, etc.
Life jackets and also the former owner had these collar type flotation things that we've never used.
Bilge pump (hand-type pump for a tiny bilge)
2 overboard throw cushions
INTERIOR:
When we bought the boat the man said the upholstery was nearly new. It looks very, very good.
The wood in the boat is a teak veneer.
My husband re-did the table and added a chess/checker board. You'll see it in the photos attached.
Curtains are good.
A "navigation" station at foot of starboard berth (I guess that's what you'd use it for. Small but nice)
The trailer is in great shape and has superb tires. I took a photo of one of them. The trailer is double-axle. The tires and wheels are new. There is a new spare tire also.
I'm sure I'm overlooking a few items but it's mostly covered here.
Becky
P.S. The only thing you may need and I’ll try to pick one up here is a gasket for the water tank.
