I tossed a bottle with my "boat card" in it and wrote a request for a reply from anyone who might find my bottle on the back of the card. I also stuffed some Bermudian paper currency in the bottle primarily as a teaser.
Guess what? Today I received an emailed reply.......from a nice lady in Bermuda, of all places. I dropped the bottle overboard about a hundred miles north of the island figuring it would work it's way to Ireland, Britain, or Northern Europe. She was walking her dogs on the south side of the island on a beach named "Southland Beach" and found my bottle among some rocks. My bottle "swam" in an arc from my drop off point to the south side of the island. Talk about a countercurrent. It must have been effected by the Sargasso Sea rather than the Gulf Stream as I had anticipated. I thanked her for the reply and told her I owe her a day sail when I return.

Nice story...but you should have told her to keep the money...seal up the bottle and throw it back in. Maybe in a year or two you'd get an email from Borneo (or, alas, from her neighbor!)
