Winter Topic
OK I've finally been able to Mostly achieve a dream of mine- to run all my electrical devices on the boat on AA's. Thought I'd share what I came up with.
We have a spotlight (ThruNite TN4A) Crazy bright and has a throw of 326 Meters. 4AA's- 1150 Lumens (Its so Bright I think I can repel boarders with it...)
GPS(Garmin Oregon 400c) with Charts- Older but works well. 2AA's
VHS (Backup Power) for my Handheld Standard Horizon VHS. 6AA's
Headlight(Fenix HL23) Great Bright light- runs on 1AA
Navigation lights(Innovative lighting LED Bow/Stern Lights)Good on Boats up to 23Ft. 4AA's
Lantern(Streamlight Seige) Portable light for cabin or cockpit. Has a Red Light Function. 4AA's
and two wall sconces (see Below) all powered on AA's.
A 15$ 50 pack AA's off Amazon or $25 worth of Rechargeables and we're good for the whole season.
Found these on clearance at Kmart. Indoor/outdoor rated, run on 6 AA batteries and should last 200 hrs on a set of batteries. Looks like they made different colored sconces as well.

All the devices are at least water resistant but most are IPX 7 rated (1meter for 30 minutes) or Better.
I said mostly earlier as I have a portable battery to recharge my cell and tablet
(Microstart Anti Gravity Battery XP-1)

Fantastic! How about a solar charger for your digital devices? Then you could ditch the XP 1.

Actually I was thinking of a solar panel to charge the Xp-1
