I'm in! How can I miss this one? My boat is stored right across the river at Great Bay Marine. I'd really like to say I'll be wearing my Patriot's Superbowl 50 Champions sweatshirt, but . . .

Jim

That's great news. :) We should have a good get together again this year for CFL. If El Niño holds we may be lucky and have nice weekend. See you soon!

Just a quick reminder for your calendar....The Cabin Fever Lunch is coming up on Saturday Feb 20 at Newicks in Dover, NH at 12:30pm. In addition to good camaraderie, good food, good drink and exceptional raffle prizes, this year our guest speakers will be Les Hyde and Anne Cogger, the organizers of last year's Maine Cruise. Les and Anne are accomplished cruisers and will be talking about the NE Fleet Cruise and the experience of cruising on the Maine Coast.
Hope to see you there! :)

Ps For more information about the event and the online registration form, please see the NE Fleet Activities page. All owners of both Cape Dory and Robinhood power and sailboats, CDSOA members and non-members, are welcome to attend!

Thanks :!: I was told by a past flag officer (who asked that his name be withheld for security reasons and is currently at an "undisclosed location") that there is both a secret handshake and a coded reciprocal security phrase.

Cathy:

Thank you for the reference. My post had actually inquired about "joining" the NE fleet versus "attending" a meeting. luncheon, etc. Under the CDSOA charter can you be a resident in one part of the country yet "join" a CDSOA fleet in another part of the country :?: Say, just as an example, residing in Miami and "joining" the NE Fleet. :D
Exactly.

If you haven't renewed your membership for 2016 yet, it is easiest to select a fleet (just select the appropriate checkbox) when you renew or join.

My wife, Dianne, and I plan on coming down from The Frozen North. We miss Newicks since they closed the South Portland shop. Was a staple for my family for decades. May even bring Bubba, Sailor Dog Extraordinaire. Hope to match some faces to all these board post signatures I've been reading these past years.

I hear talk of snow and rain with a brisk 20 kt southerly on Saturday morning. Any chance weather is gonna re-schedule our Cabin Fever date?

Hi David
Sorry, I just saw your post. Right now there are no plans to re-schedule. Please use your best judgement whether it's safe to travel from your area. As usual for NE the weather it's changeable from one place to another. Right now Fri 10:00pm, the NWS forecast for Dover, NH on Saturday is rain & snow likely before 8:00AM (less than 1/2 inch possible) then chance of rain through the afternoon. They are forecasting it to be cloudy and gradually becoming mostly sunny, high near 49 deg F SW 10-15. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed :D

This was the first Cabin Fever for Jenn and I and we really enjoyed it.

Thanks so much to Bob, Jim and all the others who made it happen.

If you need volunteers for next year's event, count us in.
