Does anyone know where I can pick up a used moisture meter? I'm in the process of trying to dry out my hull. The gelcoat has been removed and I would like to monitor the progress in the up coming months. If you know of a good source, please let me know. Maybe someone has one out there and will not be using it for the next several months. If so, would you be interested in renting it?

Re: Moisture Meter
Is the boat under cover, especially the hull and above to prevent any rainwater running down the hull? Moisture meters are funny animals. I have run them over a hull in the yard getting various readings then run the same boat the next day and get different readings in the same spots. I recently sold a boat that was rejected by the first buyer based solely on the readings from the surveyors moisture meter. The boat had been out of the water for almost a year. I sold the same boat 6months later and it had been in the water the entire time and the meter readings were quite acceptable. ??? It ain't gonna get any drier with or without a moisture meter. Your idea of borrowing one is much better than buying one, the supposedly better ones aren't cheap.Rich Joiner wrote: Does anyone know where I can pick up a used moisture meter?
