Manual Start Handle

I've got a manual starting handle came from a CD28 (I think). Westerbeke? In any event it's free to whomever wants to pay shipping.

I wouldn't think it a problem, but perhaps I'm missing something... I'm not selling mine out of hatred or anything, I just don't have the engine that accompanies it anymore.

A warm engine may be marginally easier but it essentially makes no difference. If you don't have a handle this is a bargain. It can be an essential component of your on board spares inventory one day.

Have you ever used your's to start the engine. If so what was your experience with the effort. I already have one for my 28 Volvo Penta 2002 but will have to check my 30B to see if it has one (Universal 16).

I have a Universal M-25XPB and it doesn't have hand start capability. I had a YSB-8 in a previous boat and I used to hand start it a couple times each season just for kicks. Once you are familiar with it and know how much muscle to apply it's pretty easy. I don't think I'd want to try it on a 25hp motor unless it had a monster sized flywheel to help with the enertia at this point in my life

Looks a lot like the handle that came with my boat for the Yanmar 2GM on board.

Good deal for someone. Looks to be in better condition than the one I have.

I really cant say what it will fit with certainty. My memory is that the engine that came out of my boat was a red 2 cylinder diesel, perhaps a westerbeke? (it was rusted and locked and had been submerged in water for some time) In any event I'm really not certain what engine it was, and then it's an assumption that this handle fit that engine...

The handle has a set of angled or ramped teeth at the end set onto a tube. Looks like it cranks in a clockwise direction. The tube has an inside diameter of 1 1/16" and an outside diameter of 1 11/16. there is a weld on the shaft that makes the whole deal another 1/4" in dia. (i.e. if this thing pokes through a hole, the hole better be roughly 2" in diameter)
