The spring before last, Carolyn and I purchased our CD 36. We live in Austin, but our goal was to get a larger boat to put on the coast. That we did. Alas, we are not sailing as much as we had hoped. Part of it is that my work has taken some turns, at the time unexpected, that now leave me limited time for longer weekends. Part of it is the inconvenience of having the boat 4 hours away. Part of it, strangely, is that I've been sailing some on other people's boats. (I crewed on a trip from Maryland to Virgen Gorda last November.)
Don't get me wrong. We get down to our boat once or twice a month. We do boat chores, spend the weekend, and sail around the bay. We have fun. We love the way she sails. We love spending time on her. Even rainy weekends when we don't sail. We just haven't sailed her as much as we thought we would.
Sigh. (But only half a sigh.)
Lament on sailing our CD 36, not very much

Russell, we are close by. My CD 30 is on Galveston Bay in Kemah. Would love to see your 36 sometime. My e-mail address is rrau@att.net. If your boat is close by I would be glad to keep an eye on her when I can. Look forward to hearing from you.Russell wrote: The spring before last, Carolyn and I purchased our CD 36. Texas is a big place
Russ, thanks for the offer. Sinsonte is near Corpus, which is as far from Galveston as it is from Austin. Four hours by car, and over a day by sail. If you're ever visiting Corpus, drop me a note. My email address is: rturpin [at] jump [dot] net.
