Allslip Sail Slides

Post by tjr818 »

If I don't scrape up enough boat dollars to do the Strongtrack I am thinking of switching the sail slide to the Bainbridge Allslip Slides. I think the A108 slide will fit the mast section on a 27. Has anyone else used the Allslip Slides? If so what Slide Clip did you use, and are you happy with the Allslip slides?

Have you tried going up the mast & spraying silicone spray lube (McLube) into the track? I thought I needed a new track system 'till I brushed mine out & sprayed it - made a huge difference. The mainsail goes up & down fine now.

Sailing involves the courage to cherish adventure and the wisdom to fear danger. Knowing where one ends, and the other begins, makes all the difference.

Tim,
If you do go ahead with the tidesmarine mast track, I have the mainsail for that. I had that mast track for years and loved it. My sail is about 10 years old but in very good condition and with excellent shape. It's just missing the battens but any sailmaker can easily take care of that!
I'm not asking very much for it either.

Every year at launch I spray the mast track and slides with silicone and the main drops like a rock. Through out the summer periodic spraying of the slides is necessary.
