Bahama Charter Recommendations

Post by barfwinkle »

Good afternoon to all

We will be chartering in mid-February and we are considering the Bahamas as a destination. We want/need a Cat so if you have any experience or recommendations for Charter Companies in the area it would be greatly appreciated.

Two years ago I chartered from the Moorings in Marsh Harbour. It was a very good experience. We took a monohull but they do a lot of cats. Let me know if you want more detailed information. Do purchase a decent chart in advance, we used "Explorer Charts"; the Moorings provide you with a book that is useful but not so detailed except in the harbors. Around there it does not matter too much as you can pretty much figure out depth by looking down but I felt better with an accurate chart.

We will be there again this year for a week in mid February; let me know if you want to meet up.

Sunsail has cats in the Bahamas. Just saw an ad in Sail magazine. I've no cat experience myself.
