Age identification---CD28 power
2 brokers are picturing the same boat---as an '87 and as a '90. How can I tell who's right?
Re: Age identification---CD28 power
On the 87 the bow rails end slightly aft of the windshield. On the 90 they end about even with the start of the cabin. The 90 fly bridge ladder is at an angle. The 87 is stright up.bob wrote: 2 brokers are picturing the same boat---as an '87 and as a '90. How can I tell who's right?

Check the Hull I.D. #. This can be found in two places on the boat. One place is in the top right on the transom. Any broker should be able to tell the year of the boat from this. The HIN should be twelve characters. The first three will be the mfg. ID, characters 4-8 will be the serial # assigned by the builder. 9-10 will be the month and year of the builder's certification. 9 will always be a letter. "A" = January and so on. 11 & 12 will be the model year such as 87 or 90. This is not true for older boats, but should be close for older boats such as in the mid 70's or before.

If you are referring to the CD28 in Sayville LI, it's an 87. I purchased "Weigh Station" last week.bob wrote: 2 brokers are picturing the same boat---as an '87 and as a '90. How can I tell who's right?
