CD25 tabbing in new bulheads

Along with other items in my must do list, I am considering replacing the old bulkheads in my 1975 boat with new teakwood bulkheads. With all my other work to be done at/around the aft cabin internal bulkhead, and at parts of the 2 forward bulkheads which have been removed by a PO, I am seeing it will be better to fix it right while I am at it. I will be doing a larger scupper valve system at the same time.
My question is, while it will be significant work to remove the old, and cut new bulkheads using templates, and adding a putty mix in the locations made out of thickened epoxy, does anyone here have experience doing this in a small Cape Dory? I have studied Stan Friehofer's pictures and writeup and yet have not heard any suggestions yet as to what FG fabric I should use on both sides of the new teakwood plywood, and how far to overlap. I know I must route or sand off the teakwood venier around he edges to make the bond to the boat liner slots.
