Wood trim CD25
Doing a total restoration. Would like to take off wood hand rails and trim around companionway. Before I pop a bung out, is it screwed or through bolted? If bolted, can I get to the inside nuts some how?
Re: Wood trim CD25
On a 22, the handrails are bolted and the companionway trim is screwed.

It may depend on the year. Ours is a 1973 model. Handrails are screwed. Exterior companionway is such a small area, I would tape it and do it in place. Coaming and handrails should come off. IMO.

This is perhaps unrelated, but at one point I wanted to remove the cockpit coming, to take home and refinish. I removed the bungs and the screws behind them. Only then did I realize that the coming was glued on. Not wanting to damage the wood in removal, I replaced the screws and installed new bungs. Lesson learned . . . .
