I Need to replace cockpit locker door hinges
I recently refitted my 1981 CD Typhoon Weekender #1792 and on a recent sail I noticed that some of the hinge screws on the cockpit locker doors have wallowed out their attachment holes in the hinges and the hinges are starting to bend and fail. I have looked at the parts webpages suggested on the CD association website but haven't found any leads on where I might find replacements for these. I would like to find suitable replacements not just any old hinge. Any help would be appreciated. ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Re: I Need to replace cockpit locker door hinges
I have seen these online. None of them are a match. The hinges on my Typhoon are just a flat, square cornered hinge about 3" to 4" in size with 3 (maybe 4, I can't remember) inline attachment holes on each half of the hinge . I'm going back soon to take exact dimensions. Thanks for the input though. ![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

It would really help if you could post a picture of the hinges that you have. ![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: I Need to replace cockpit locker door hinges
An oddity of the Typhoon is that it didn't come with hinges or latches. The covers simply sat on the openings when delivered from the factory. This means that the hinges you have now are not original equipment but were added by a previous owner. They could be anything from hardware store, household hinges, to quality marine items. The fact is that they are not original and you can feel free to replace them with anything that works. If they had been equipped with hinges, they would have been from Spartan as is the rest of the hardware on our boats, Steve.

The following is the link for these:

I was able to get a friend's friend who had a plasma cutter to cut them down to size (though I think they would have had room to fit OK as they were). Then the hole patterns of the original were drilled and I used new stainless #8 bolts with Locking nuts to hold them in place. Again I would have included a picture if there was a way to up load one from my PC.
