Well Femme has been covered up now since late October. Here she is with her big sister Mariah on the right. We do our own shrink-wrapping for about $130/year in materials if doing a full shrink job. However, I have been reusing my shrink film and have gotten four seasons out of it up here on the western Great Lakes. It is like a custom made tarp,
Looking forward to this time of year!

Re: Ode to ShrinkWrap
Good for you, It should be encouraged to re-use shrink wrap. I was able to get 5 years out of mine until I accidentally sliced it rendering it unusable . Seems such an expense and waste for a few months each year.
I have since gone to an emt frame with green plastic tarps which last about 3 years.
After the initial expense for the conduit and fittings (200.00), the tarps cost 60.00

I like the color of your bottom paint. Very handsome. Care to disclose the brand and color? I know the fresh and saltwater formulations and their colors vary.

Re: Ode to ShrinkWrap
I have been using tarps, but I only get one and a half season out of one so far. That 3rd half-season takes a toll...
For those of us neophytes, any suggestions of starter kits, how to videos, what mil thickness do you use?

Re: Ode to ShrinkWrap
I just realized there were some questions on this post. Two months later, sorry folks, winter moves kinda slow up here.
Yes the bottom paint is indeed VC-17, color: Blue. But the second photo is of Femme just after painting and before launching so it goes on copper colored. After submersion however it looks almost dark grey/black like in the first photo, quite a difference.
We use 8mil Dr Shrink shrink film. Works great. One 22'x100' roll does both my brother's CD36 and my 33.
