I was surprised the air temp. was 68. When I read it last night my temp was 8

Nothing beats a "crispy" mainsail unless, of course, you also have a "crispy" staysail and a "crispy" yankee

I am very sorry for anyone who is inconvenienced (or way worse) by Juno, but I have been loading chairs at Mount Sunapee Ski Resort, and everyone there is SO happy to to ski fresh powder. This is the first real snow, since Thanksgiving.

I checked on my boat today and everything was fine. I also checked on a fellow CDSOA members boat (as I do every time I check on my own) which remains in the water for the winter. Here's a view which may prove interesting to our friends in more temperate climates.

Steve
Please enlighten me what the stainless in front of the wheel is for.
I am guessing the photo Jim took is of Raven.

This was my solution to mounting and protecting the chart plotter. This is revision A. At first I only had the horizontal bar and the plotter was pretty much exposed to falls and people grabbing for the pedestal guard. The entire cage is bolted on so it could be easily removed if a new owner did not want it. The mounting board with drink or bino holder is attached onto the stainless tubes with plastic clips so it can be removed and stowed below when not in use. I like the location of the original pedestal guard as a handhold while at the helm. The cage just gives me more places to hold onto.

Here is a picture on a less snowy day, Steve.

With this arrangement, I was also able to keep my cockpit table. The 4" fiddles not only hold a water bottle and or my thermos but a stemmed wine glass will also fit and will not spill.

These are all very important design considerations, Steve.

Here we go again. We should see another foot, give or take a few inches, in the next 24 hours. I kinda preferred the snowfall deficit we experienced earlier in the year.

The only positive thing I can think of with respect to the sudden bounty of snowfall here in the northeast is that I am infinitely glad I invested in a new winter cover!! My old homebuilt winter cover and frame would have collapsed in disgrace by now, and I would have had that disheartening call again from the marina office asking me to make the 75 minute drive to rectify the situation. Been there, done that.

I agree. We may not be Buffalo New York, but we get more than our share of heavy snowfall so your winter cover had better be up to the task.
