In the spring I hope to buy either a 25D or a 27. I daysail and of prime importance is the number of people who can comfortably be seated. I am assuming the 27 is slightly larger than the 25D. Can either boat seat 6 adults comfortably?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Re: 25D or 27
As the email indicates I have a 25D and have been aboard a 27 or two( but never sailed one) and while I think the 27 has prettier lines, and a bit more room, I cant imagine six people in either cockpit. It can be done, but it would certainly be busy. Folks would have to be scattered about the place to stay out of the way.
Also, I dont think I would have a 27 with a 1GM in it. Not enough power IMHO.
That said both boats are wonderful little ships.

Re: 25D or 27
I have a CD27 and I agree that 6 is really a crowd in the cockpit. Four can fit quite comfortably but even with four sometimes tacking and handling the tiller and sheets can be a little "awkward" if the other people in the cockpit have no "sailing savvy". I love sailing her with 2 or 3 people. My CD27 has a YSM8 engine in it, but it also has a 3 bladed prop and I haven't found it underpowered. Granted, alot depends where you are sailing. Going against very heavy currents and/or tides could tax an 8HP engine I'm sure. But I'll tell ya'....a CD27 is really great to sail in.

Michael, Designate 3 or 4 as "rail meat", and there will be plenty of room. The cockpit is good for 2 or 3.
