Skeep, I really appreciate the excellent review on Amazon. To answer your question, we left California in 2010 and the winter in Sitka was 2013/2014. Lots of darkness and precipitation in various forms, but an excellent environment to buckle down and write a book. One of the advantages of the Amazon publishing route is that it's very quick--it took about a week, once the manuscript was done, to do formatting and layout of both electronic and print versions. The downside is, as Robert found, that the promotion and distribution is nothing like what you'd get through a traditional publisher. Sorry!

My husband and I have both finished the book and enjoyed it immensely. I laughed out loud many times and also caught my breath when the two of you were going through difficulties. You have a very promising future as a writer.

The last post is pretty old, but I found it though reading on here. It is a free read on Kindle. It is well written. I have laughed a lot while reading it. My hats off to their bravery, I may could have done it at their age but now, not so much. You know when you are 20 something you are invincible in your own mind because you haven't been told to be a responsible non dreamer for 40 or 50 years or so. Fantastic Read, if you haven't give it a try. Dennis
