Jody,

I might be interested in the stove/oven. Did it come off of a Cape Dory? Can you describe it or give some measurements? What condition is it in?

I have Seaward Hillerange on Hanalei and would consider replacing it for a range in good condition.

Dave,

I am looking for a Hillerange Alcohol oven/stove for spare parts (metal parts mainly). I need the top and knobs specificly, if they are in any better condition than our present pieces. If you do dump your stove, I would be willing to buy it for parts if the top is in half-way decent condition. Let me know please!

Cheers!

Larry,

I recently (2 years ago) rebuilt the burners. Removed them from the stove, had them sand blasted(makes 'em look like new, for about the first 10 seconds of the first re-lite, cleans out all the gook), replaced the generators and all shaft gaskets (about $5 in parts per burner). Also replaced the pan supports. Cleaned the top with oven cleaner and polished the stainless steel with a buffing wheel to remove the heat discoloration. Came out pretty good! The top has now discolored again, and I will clean and buff it again this year, if I don't replace it.

Seaward in California was a big help in the rebuild. Actually they gave me the parts for the burners, but don't tell anyone! I'll let you know if I replace it. Oh, and if you do decide to rebuild it, remove it from the boat, tank too, take it all home and do it there, reassemble it at home and bake a potatoe in it - if all works OK, re-install it!
