installing a mooring

I'm still wondering where this mooring is that the guy helping you thought it was too much chain. It sounds like a lot to me as well, but are you in Falmouth Maine (rough), or Perry Creek Vinalhaven (duck pond calm)? That would make a difference.

Penobscot Bay. This particular spot is not very exposed, except somewhat to a stiff Northwest wind. For the most part the scope I have is probably overkill. But for the occasional gale that may blow through, it's nice not to have to worry.
