The Seven Seas Cruising Association is holding its 2nd Annual Summer Solstice Gam in Essex, CT on June 21st – 23rd, 2014.

Saturday, June 21st
10:00 – 15:00 Support to those arriving by boat needing transportation to a chandlery, grocery store,
Laundromat, etc.
17:00 – 20:30 Reception at the Essex Yacht Club (EYC) w/cash bar and buffet dinner to follow. After dinner
historian Brenda Milkofsky will provide a historical perspective of Essex, CT and its involvement
in the war of 1812

Sunday, June 22nd
09:00 - 13:00 Transportation to a chandlery, grocery store, Laundromat, etc.
11:30 - 14:30 Optional - Essex Corinthian Yacht Club open for Brunch (BYOB)
10:00 - 14:00 US Coast Guard Auxiliary Boat Inspections (pre-register)

Essex Yacht Club:
13:30 - 15:00 Voyaging to the Caribbean w/Frank Virgintino
15:00 - 16:00 Roundtable discussions on heading south on the ICW and cruising Long Island Sound to Maine

Lower Deck of the Essex Corinthian Yacht Club:
17:00 - 18:30 Cocktails & Social Hour BYOB and snack to share
17:30 - 20:00 Optional - Essex Corinthian Yacht Club is open for Dinner (BYOB)

Monday, June 23rd (2nd Floor of the Essex Corinthian Yacht Club)
11:00 – 12:00 Doors open
12:00 – 12:30 Welcome & Introductions
12:30 – 13:30 Design Elements of Good Cruising Boats w/Mark Ellis
13:30 – 14:45 Cruising the Caribbean in Quadrants w/Frank Virgintino
14:45 – 15:00 Break
15:00 – 16:00 Electronics for the Cruiser - Defender Industries
16:00 – 17:00 Rescue at Sea w/Dan Alonso (Bermuda 1-2)
17:30 – 18:30 Cocktails & Social Hour BYOB and Snacks
18:30 – 21:00 Pot Luck Dinner (Burgers and Hot Dogs to be provided)

Registration: $15 / member - $25 / non-members
($15 for Non-members who also sign up for membership in the SSCA at the event)
Saturday Dinner $20 / person (includes gratuity)
Anchorage is available on the east bank the Connecticut river w/access to the dingy dock of either club
Slips are available from Brewers Dauntless and Essex Island Marina
Moorings & launch service available from at the Essex Yacht Club & Brewers Dauntless Marina
(Brewers offers a 25% credit on each days mooring after an initial days stay at any yard)
Several moderately priced motels are available in the area within easy driving distance
