Winter's Guilt

Post by Warren Kaplan »

I just got Sine Qua Non all "tucked in" for the winter. All shrink wrapped and up on blocks on the dry land. She looks out of her element in the corner of the boatyard but perhaps she'll just hibernate like a big ole grizzly bear. I drained the "life blood" out of her engine and pumped her full of antifreeze. God! I felt like an undertaker pumping in embalming fluid. I guess I'm starting to feel like the rest of you "half year" sailors. I do hope spring comes early this year!

I am so sorry to hear that your CD has been embalmed. Those of us in the southland are just now preparing for the best sailing season of the year. Steady breezes, few Cigarette boats, lots of folks watching football games, etc. Further, we don't even have to put anti-freeze in the system... against the rules to stay that cold that long.
Cheers!
