I know personally how difficult it was for Peter to part with S/V Lady Jane. He cared for her for many, many years and she was in every way a part of Peter's family. While I am happy for Peter I know there is a part of him that is sad. I know.

Hopefully, whoever is the lucky person who is the new caretaker for S/V Lady Jane will soon start posting on this board.

I looked at a lot of Cape Dory 25D sailboats. S/V Lady Jane is probably the nicest Cape Dory 25D I ever looked at (except possibly my S/V Bali Ha'i - after all, I am just a little prejudiced about that  ).

Most importantly, Peter is one of the very, very nicest and most helpful CDers I have met; and I have met many very helpful Cape Dory sailors.

The new caretaker of S/V Lady Jane will be well advised to follow Peter's example of care and maintenance. I am very sure he has told the new caretaker "call with any questions; I will help in any way I can". That is exactly what Peter told me when I acquired caretaker status of S/V Bali Ha'i.

Fair winds Peter wherever you may travel.
Fair winds,

Roberto

I am happy to say that I am the new owner of Peter Wallace’s Cape Dory, S/V Lady Jane.
Peter is just a wonderful gentleman, and has set a very high bar in terms of the meticulous care with which he maintained his boat.
I plan to bring the boat to Wisconsin and sail it on the Great Lakes, hopefully making some summer trips up to the North Channel.

George:

Congratulations :!: You will be very, very happy with S/V Lady Jane.

If I recall correctly, I sent you a post about S/V Lady Jane many months ago, although I think at that time you were looking for a CD 25D in the Great Lakes with a trailer. You made a wise choice. And yes, Peter Wallace is one of the nicest gentleman sailors you will ever meet.

Enjoy S/V Lady Jane :!:
Fair winds,

Roberto
