I just bought an '82 Typhoon. The hull is in great shape, but the running rigging is quite "tired".
Can anyone tell me the line lengths I'll need for new halyards? Also, can you recommend a line diameter?
At this point, I'm estimating I need about 61 ft. for both jib and main - that includes 3 ft. for eye splices [probably more than I'll need, but I like to be conservative].
Also, I'm thinking 3/16" double braid will be adequate.
Any comments will be greatly appreciated!!

3/16ths would be strong enough but is rough on your hands, too small to get a grip. I would use as a minimum 1/4 for the halyards and 5/16ths for the sheets.
