WTB Schaeffer Cheek Block

Post by tjr818 »

I am looking for a match to the Schaeffer Cheek block that was original for the reefing line. Does anyone have one or know of a source?

I have a brand new Schaeffer 2&1/2" cheek block. Hole centers are:
1&1/4" Width
and 4& 5/8" length. Plate is flat.
There is a 3/4" dia X 1/4" projection under the center bolt.
$80. plus shipping.
Pics if you want them.

Try Sailor's Exchange in Jacksonville and St. Augustine FL. They always have a large selection of Schaeffer blocks and their prices are negotiable (even says so on the door). If they don't want to mail it and it's in the Jacksonville store I can swing by and drop it in the mail for you. The store is within walking distance of my slip and I visit it often.

Thanks Dick, but that must be the next size up. The one I am trying to match has a 2" diameter sheave and the bolt holes are 3/4" on center Vertically and 4 1/8" on center horizontally.

This one may be too small. You need one that's just right. I'll check upstairs.

Thanks John,
You are correct, that one is one size too small. I'm starting to feel like Goldilocks. I hope we can find the one that is JUST right. It sounds as though you have a very interesting Upstairs.
