Two (2) Lewmar #7 bronze Genoa winches for sale

Post by Sea Hunt Video »

Having successfully installed two new Lewmar 16ST Genoa winches on S/V Bali Ha'i I have decided to sell the original Lewmar #7 bronze Genoa winches from S/V Bali Ha'i, my 1982 Cape Dory 25D.

I am selling the two (2) Lewmar #7 bronze winches for $160 each OBO; no refunds, no returns. I would hope to sell both together. This price includes two (2) “winchers” (they cost $56 at Defender.com) & the 10 original screws and nuts that go into the Spartan bronze winch stands. You can keep or remove the "winchers". I found them somewhat helpful. Both Lewmar bronze winches are in good condition (with the ubiquitous bronze patina on both).

Buyer will pay shipping costs and select shipping method (UPS, FEDEX, USPS, etc.). When Defender shipped me the two Lewmar 16ST Genoa winches I believe the UPS shipping cost was about $35-$40 but I am not sure.
Fair winds,

Seahunt,
Do your number 7s have a plastic spindle or a bronze one?

John:

They have a hard, black, non-bronze spindle. I am not sure the material is "plastic" but it is not bronze. I examined both spindles. No nicks, cracks, etc. The spindle surface is very smooth.

From looking at your website you would know a lot more about this than me. I am pretty sure these winches were original to S/V Bali Ha'i (1982) so they are 30-31 years old.

Thanks Robert. I want bronze for winch guts whenever possible. My #7 or #6 out-haul winch has a plastic/nylon spindle and that's OK. Most of the loads are too big on my boat for plastic/nylon. I would have used these for halyard winches but with someone up the mast I would not want the spindle to break. Anyway, thanks for the quick reply.

I am just looking for a single bronze winch pedestal to go under that winch, but since you only upgraded the winches, I am assuming you are re-using the pedestal. Unless of course you don't have the bronze Pedestals and have the fancy fiberglass boxes...

I installed the new winches onto the original Spartan bronze pedestals. Sorry. :(

Ron:

Yes, I will reluctantly sell just one of the two winches. Price is $120. Buyer selects shipping method (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.) and pays shipping costs.
