Sailing Vessel Flor Del Sol:

Basics: Classic 19 Typhoon retrofitted and owned from 2009 thru 2013 by USCG licensed professional sailor.

Sailed extensively on Long Island's Peconic Bay, the Sound, and Northport Harbor from 09 thru 11.

Professionally shipped 1200 miles over land from Long Island, NY to new port of Key Largo, FL in Oct 2011.


Sails and power:

2007 doyle mainsail with single reefing point

2 headsails - good condition (140 and 100 percent)

High wind storm jib - 90% headsail by american sailmaker/ 2010.

Yearly servicing/winterization of 2007 Honda 5 hp 4 stroke engine.

Starts with one pull and a little choke.

Numerous Upgrades:

Replaced coamings and winches with custom 3:1 purchase block and tackle for headsail operation.

Cabin top fairlead track and cleats replaced with harken cams and new fairleads.

Added small bronze winch drum to cabin top to ensure taught main halyard tension.

Added new reefing blocks, fairleads, and cams on boom

Harken Mainsheet kit with carbon blocks and new sta-set sheet.

Added topping lift for safety

Replaced all halyards: jib, main, spi.

Added custom spinnaker block aloft with fairleads and locking cam for spi halyard to cockpit.

Projects:
All cockpit trim, companionway trim, and tiller epoxied and painted.

Cetol Marine on toe rail and stern rail in nov 2013.

Applied Alwgrip in 2010 on cockpit sole and custom dri-deck non-skid flooring.

Doubled size of inspection port in stern of cockpit to allow access to aft portion of vessel.

Installed tiller tamer by Davis instruments with custom blocks and cams for ease of operation single-handing.

Custom Sunbrella companionway cover in addition to mosquito proof companionway cover.

Custom Sun/Rain sunbrella cockpit cover in 2011.

Custom sunbrella covers over cockpit access to quarterberths

Custom fabricated teak cabin sole

Custom anchoring mounts on foredeck for ease of storage and deployment of 8 lb Danforth style anchor with 8 feet of canvas jacketed chain and 50 feet of 1/2 new england rope.

Installed Plastimo Mini-contest Compass - starboard side of cockpit/cabin.

Extras:

Detachable running and stern lights

3 gallon fuel tank with sunbrella cover

2 boatmates storage pouches in cockpit

8 docklines and assorted sheets for headsails stored below deck on custom PVC mounts.

Batttery operated LED lighting in cabin

Two boatmate storage pouches on cabin interior bulkhead.

Manually operated bilge pump.

Spare danforth with 100 feet of brand new 1/2 inch new england rope.

Battlestick Tiller extenstion

Full cabin cushions for sleeping below deck

Inflatable camping mattress for sleeping in cockpit

Assorted fastners, extras parts, etc. In watertight boxes

Complete tool bag for all required maintainance at sea.

Boat hose and deck brush

2 type II mounted fire extinguishers

Emergency overboard bag with flares, whistle, mirror, blanket, etc.

Dri-deck lining on quarterberths and all storage areas below decks.

Kite, backgammon set, small collapseable cooler, and storage baskets in V berth.


Summary:

This is not your typical Cape Dory Typhoon. The vessel has made successful 100 plus mile outings in various bodies of water in extreme sea states and wind conditions. Safety, ease of sailing, and single-handing was the primary focus of the 5 year retrofit.

The owner/captain will be in the Florida Keys mid-april and is willing to deliver the vessel to her new owner/port without fee (within 50 nautical miles).

The vessel is ready to sail and despite her age, she will ensure her next owner many years of sailing ahead.
