Typhoon & Trailer for Sale (Sold)
Typhoon & Trailer for Sale (Sold)
I am winding up the deal on a larger CD and need to sell Grace to make room in the yard. She is a 1974 Typhoon in above average condition according to survey completed in spring 2013. She is set up for single handing with everything led to cockpit. Details:
Rig - Roller furling genoa (130% I believe), Spinnaker rigged including spinnaker and pole, Main with two reef points and jiffy reefing, 4:1 boom vang, 2:1 downhaul, adjustable topping lift, whisker pole, wind indicator, main sail cover.
Interior/cockpit - Full set of cabin and cockpit cushions in like new condition, Tiller tamer, Tiller cover, Solar powered cabin vent.
Electrical/electronics - AGM battery with AC charger, Electrical system completely rewired with new panel (all lights and electronics work), Raymarine depth indicator & electronic compass, Lowrance Elite 4 GPS, handheld VHF radio with charger
Power - 6 HP Nissan Outboard w/ extra long shaft and 12 v rectifier (2005), 3 gal portable tank, traditional Spartan motor mount
Hull - Original gel coat in very good condition, Painted red boot stripe, Bottom paint stripped in 2013, barrier coat, multi-season bottom paint new this year (red ), Stainless steel compression post, New scupper hoses and through hulls, Most deck fittings re-bedded by PO with bronze backing plates. Custom winter cover.
Trailer - Brand new 2013 Load Rite bunk trailer with extra long tongue, LED lights, fenders. Will be used for the first time to haul out this year.[/list]
One soft spot on rear deck at motor mount which will be re-cored prior to delivery. She is already scheduled to go into shop in mid-December with one of the best custom/classic boat fiberglass shops in South Jersey.
The only thing the new owner needs to do is to decide if they want to renew the Cetol on cockpit/cabin top bright work or strip and varnish it. I have the materials for both. Rub/toe rail varnished in 2013 (six coats).
Asking $8,200 with sale contingent upon deal with other boat going through (expected December 10th). Additional photos and survey are available upon request. All photos were taken this morning (11/24/13). Boat is near Atlantic City, NJ.

Re: Typhoon with Trailer for Sale - Near Atlantic City, NJ
Very pretty boat but I live in northern NJ and need to have my Typhoon "S-Cape" bottom striped and a barrier coat applied. What is the name of yard that did your work?
Thanks,
Andy

I have had all my work done by Pat Francis at PF Custom Marine. He is really into classic boats and very good with fiberglass and wood. I have some postings under projects showing more of his work.
Tell him the owner of Grace referred you. His info. is as follows:

Re: Typhoon & Trailer for Sale (New Price 11/28)
Steve,
Your Typhoon looks very nice. What do you use as a finish for your woodwork? Varnish? I'm refinishing all of mine this winter and would be thrilled if it came out as nice as yours.
Thanks.
Chris

Re: Typhoon & Trailer for Sale (New Price 11/28)
Chris,
The rub/toe rails were done with 6 coats of Petit Z-Spar Flagship after stripping (cetol), a very light sanding and wipe down with a Petit recommended thinner to assure adhesion.
The remainder of the wood, as indicated above, was done by previous owner with Cetol Clear, which I had intended to take off and replace with the varnish before the deal on the new boat came about.

Re: Typhoon & Trailer for Sale (New Price 11/28)
I've had a couple of inquiries as to whether I would separate the boat from the trailer. I will sell the boat without the trailer at this time. The trailer is not up for sale independent of the boat at this time.
Also, delivery within a hours is negotiable.
