Replacement of Impulse Digital Speed Indicator: HELP

My CD 28 came equipped with an Impulse model 580slt Digital Speed/Log/Trim Indicator which is on its last legs (so to speak)

Has anyone out there replaced the paddle wheel assembly on this unit using the existing tube that is already mounted in the hull? If so, what did you use? Yup-you guessed it, Impulse is no longer!
