Replacement Stainless Strip for Taffrail, CD25D

Post by Mike Nesja »

We need to replace the Stainless Steel Strip that caps (protects tha aft face) of the teak taffrail on our CD25D.

It appears to be roughly 1/2" wide by 3/16" deep and about 6' long. In cross section it is a shallow (but solid) half-round in shape, or half oval.
West Marine appears to carry something similar, but not exactly the same in expensive 12' pieces.

Does anyone know where to find a close match to the original?

Thanks.

Hi Mike;
I need to replace mine too, but it's aluminum, at least on my CD25D; I don't have a source at this time either...

Lou,

I had a chance to take a closer look at our "dinged-up" rubrail this weekend. It is indeed aluminum, so it looks as though the half oval aluminum rubrail that West Marine lists in its catalog should be OK as a replacement.
