What's you rig like currently? If it's like mine, you don't have backstay adjustment or a boom vang, both of which are vital to control the leech twist of the main. I think you could probably live without a traveller. I don't think it would increase windward performance that much and would be out of character with a nostalgic design. Clean the bottom before every race! Ensigns are big on Lake Erie (where I'm from) and I can't see racing against one with a stock Ty. I will make it clear though that I've raced a lot of boats but not my Ty, so I may be full of beans. Hopefully at least they're giving you a lot of time!AL wrote: HAVE A DAYSAILER TYPHOON.
