May be great, but there is no list of goodies that come with the boat. Also, Why don't they show the engine
compartment? Do they have the original engine? Take a look closely at the interior. Has it been "in" the water??

Buyers beware!!!

I personally knew the retired US Navy captain that owned the boat. He died some time ago and the boat has been “on the hard” for several years at Flag Harbor. The boat was bought by a US Navy guy serving at “Pax River”. The boat has NEVER been underwater. The boat has a Universal diesel with a recent injector pump overhaul. Before anyone makes disparaging remarks about the boat, why don’t interested parties INVESTIGATE. I posted the link because the owner is a friend of mine and is not a member of Cape Dory Organization.

Perhaps you can give us a list of what is included in this vessel, as you know the boat. All I could do is look at
the photos that are on the E bay site, and if you blow them up, you will see that parts of the interior does show
some wear-and water damage??

The price is right, but one would really need a complete survey done if the boat is on the "hard" that long.

That boat looks well put together and cared for. Raven had the same dried out look to some of the teak interior when I bought her. The area behind the galley counters are the only place I could see that may look like water has been involved. The same was true for Raven. A light sanding with 220 paper and a few coats of rubbing poly brought things right back and gave the teak a glowing sheen. This boat appears to be in excellent condition and is a late model CD-30 which makes for some improvements over the earlier models. No mild steel chain plates for one. Raven is a 1984 and and has Alum backing plates for the chain plates and the bow area. This alone is worth a good bit of money and the elimination of a tremendous amount of headache somewhere down the line.

It looks like a nice solid boat, Steve.

I just posted the eBay link for my friend. Nothing in it for me. He is not a CDSOA member.

As the owner of the boat, I would encourage any interested party to contact me for more information. As with any boat purchase of this value, any buyer should get a survey to protect their investment. In the case of Bandalore I am confident nothing of any severity would be discovered. She is a good boat that has been brought back to life by an owner who is passionate about sailing and the purity of a classic.

The boat has never been underwater and sails beautifully. She would be a great boat for any salty dog or a beginner. I'm selling so I can upgrade without emptying my savings account. Look forward to another great season and seeing all of you on the bay.

A special thanks to Mac for posting my boat on this forum.
