What better absolutely relaxing thing to do on Christmas than look at some summer sailing photos. Here were some of the best Cape Dory shots I could find from Summer 2012 on Lake Superior. They are from a few family trips and a particularly good weather men's sailing weekend.
Included are three Cape Dorys - two of them in quite good shape. Ours however needs some teak lovin' There are two CD 36's, my brother John's 'Mariah' and 'Amagi' owned by Randy and Sandy. Together with our CD 33 'Femme du Nord' and about four other Cape Dorys, we reckon we have a 'Robinhood Marina West' at Schooner Bay north of Bayfield, WI. Yes, I know, we should organize, but I barely get enough time to sail the Apostle Islands which are so close at hand.
Here is my oldest coming on deck to a fresh southwesterly breeze.
And after it calmed down some...
The remote anchorage we love on Raspberry Island. (Not so remote in high season.)
Femme du Nord at Anchor - I promise to stow the fenders next season no matter how short a trip. This laziness ruined many good shots!
Femme du Nord and Amagi north side of Raspberry Is Sandspit
John's superlative masterwork Mariah
Good times on Femme at Oak Island with Mariah in the background
Mariah leaving Oak Island
This is me finally replacing the burnt out anchor light with an LED - no more rigging the spare with the halyard
And my youngest here sums it all up. Too bad we were heading back.

From that distance, my sails almost look clean! Well at least the genny will be in good shape after her overhaul at sail care this year.
Additional Summer photos.
Heading to "Tahiti Bay" Anchorage
The lee cloth berth - a crew favorite if Lake Superior starts feeling frisky, and ready for fun at 3am.
Carl Alberg's most innovative, and possibly involuntary, interior feature - the cockpit cushion headboard for the quarterberth.
