I remember reading some time back a lenghtly discussion about headsail size for a weekender. I can't seem to find the discussion,
anyway what is the current thinking abouts headsails sizes for a weekender? I have a "0" size MKIII Harkin furling system? I'm thinking a 125% so when i need to pull it in to say 90% it will still have some shape to it...Thanks and Happy Holidays, Clark

Re: the discussion about what size headsail for a ty?
Similar sail and RF to what I have. I actually liked the regular Jib because it was sheeted more inboard allowind the Ty to sail closer to the wind. With the 125% genny it is fast but cannot sail as close to the wind - but the Ty is in the groove when tacking about 100 degrees anyway. Make sure that you extend the jib tracks about 18" farther forward to accomodate the partially furled genny. That will allow you to move the jib car forward as you furl the genny and make the sail trim a whole lot better and allow you to get the most out of her. I really like the way the boat sails on her lines with about 20 degrees of heel!

Thanks Dick, I will extend the track 18" as you suggest... Clark
